QIRAVELOCHARTROOM DERBY / TABLETOP GUIDE

CHARTROOM DERBY / THE RULEBOOK

When the water changes for everyone.

A shared condition belongs in the middle of the table.

One event, openly read

Entering the Scatter lane reveals the next event. One reader announces the entire instruction and places its marker centrally so every crew can see that the condition is active.

The marker remains until a Bonus Dock or lighthouse route space clears it. Once the condition is cleared, ordinary play order resumes.

Fog Bank, Big Wave, Bright Gull

Fog Bank pauses each boat at the next open buoy and asks the table to choose a new reading order. It is a shared change in rhythm, not a private penalty.

Big Wave moves every token one route mark, followed by one shared response card. Bright Gull lets a crew trade one visible score chip for a look ahead at the Bonus Dock. These are the original example effects.

Finish the announcement first

Let the reader finish before moving the first token. When an instruction concerns every boat, carry out the same announced condition where the group can follow it.

If two players remember different wording, reread the card. A calm replay of the uncertain action is more useful than keeping competing private versions of the event.
